YHWH is the personal name of God

Earlier this year, I discovered this as I was reading the Old Testament, in the Book of Exodus, Chapter 3. Earlier this morning, I summarized this “revelation” because the topic came up in last night’s Bible Study group discussion. I believe this information is important to share with all who will read this.

Before going any further, I ask that you pray to God, Our Creator, that He will reveal the Truth to you!

Today people are saying “we all worship the same God”- so if that is true, then you will agree with what I write after seeing the evidence. If that is NOT true, you will disagree with what I write here. God never forces anyone to believe one way or another, He gives us free will to choose, but with that free will, there are consequences found in scripture, so ask those questions and dig deep! It is the most important research or investigation you will ever do!

The following are my study notes/references to the verses are given in paratheses, read the verse, then look at my notes.

“Ma’lak YHWH” means angel or MESSENGER YHWH (v2)

The messenger APPEARED Ra’a (was seen) by Moses (v2)

ELOHIM (plural form of EL, representing the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) saw that Moses was curious/looked at the burning bush, then HE (YHWH) called from WITHIN (tavek) the bush- drew him to the bush. (v 4)

Then Moses hid his face after he saw, out of fear (v 6)

The messenger identified himself as sent by “I AM” (v 14)

[Exo 3:15 NIV] – 15 God (ELOHIM) also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘(YHWH ELOHIM), the God (ELOHIM) of your fathers–the God (ELOHIM) of Abraham, the God (ELOHIM) of Isaac and the God (ELOHIM) of Jacob-–has sent ME to you.’ “This is MY NAME forever, the name you shall call ME from generation to generation.

(Paraphrasing) Tell the Israelites that YHWH ELOHIM appeared to you (Moses) (v16)

Again in Chapter 6:

[Exo 6:2 NIV] – 2 ELOHIM also said to Moses, “I am YHWH.

[Exo 6:3 NIV] – 3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God (EL -the singular form) Almighty (saday), but by my name YHWH I did not make myself fully known to them. 🩵☦️

This is JESUS appearing to Moses!!! How this is confirmed in the New Testament follows:

(Jesus’ prayer to the Father) [Jhn 17:11 NIV] – 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of YOUR NAME, the name you gave ME, so that they may be ONE as we are ONE.

(the Father and the Son have the same name: YHWH!!! and they are ONE)

[Jhn 1:18 NIV] – 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

(ONLY Jesus has SEEN God the Father; and is GOD! Moses saw Jesus )

John the apostle confirms Jesus and the Father are together, ‘ONE’ and ‘God’ (ELOHIM) here:

[Jhn 1:1-5 NIV] – 1 In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word (Jesus) was with God , and the Word (Jesus) was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him (Jesus) all things were made; without him (Jesus) nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him (Jesus) was LIFE, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Jesus confirms he is the Life:

[Jhn 14:6 NIV] – 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through me.

JESUS loves YOU and prayed this to the Father, for YOU, Jesus WAS SENT by the Father (for us):

[Jhn 17:20-26 NIV] – 20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me–so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. 24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” 🩵☦️🩵☦️🥰

[Deu 4:29 NIV] – 29 But if from there you seek YHWH your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.

[Pro 8:17 NIV] – 17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

[Jer 29:13 NIV] – 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

[Mat 7:7 NIV] – 7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

[Luk 11:9 NIV] – 9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

[Act 17:27 NIV] – 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

God has put a desire in our hearts encouraging us to seek Him, just like He used that burning bush to get Moses’ attention; but how do we respond to our God?
